International Exchange Scholarships in Germany:
The Baden-Württemberg- SCHOLARSHIP
The Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg GmbH announces the Baden-Württemberg SCHOLARSHIP for students to assist the international exchange of qualified German and foreign students at the University of Hohenheim and the universities that co-operate with it abroad.
Studies must last at least 4 months and may not exceed 10 months. The size of the scholarship amounts to at least 400 EURO per month. Recipients of the scholarship are obliged to write a report about their experiences whilst studying to meet the requirements of the State Foundation and to attend events organised by it.
Application requirements:
- very good to good academic results
- social and intercultural competent
- good knowledge of the language of instruction
The following application documents must be submitted to the International Office:
- cover letter with a detailed account of your motivation and specific course or research projects
- detailed CV (in table form)
- 2 (informal) letters of recommendation from university tutors
- English (transcript of courses)
- certified copies of university exams (Vordiplom, associate degree -Zwischenprufung) & English translation
- universities in the USA require TOEFL;proof of Spanish language skills is needed for universities in Latin America (language test from Language Centre)
Advice regarding application
Application can be made informally, i.e. an application form is not required. You can find a pre-printed form of the „transcript of courses“ on our website.
The information for the scholarship for the academic year 2009/2010 will supposedly be available from October/November 2008 on.
Application deadline is provisioned to be in January 2009.
The 2009/2010 academic year begins in:
- North America (USA and Canada) in September 2009
- Mexico in August 2009
- Chile in March 2010
- Coasta Rica in March 2010
- South Africa in Ferbuary 2010
- Japan in autumn 2009
- Israel in autumn 2009
Scholarships for Chile, Costa Rica and South Africa can therefore only be awarded for the year 2009.
